[Update 26 Jan 2023] Official images of the two-sport collaborative pair have arrived. It’s definitely one that lives up to both brands’ rich pedigree. Evidently on the smooth suede tooling on the upper, the textured finish on the double-stacked Swooshes, and the golden “XX” dubraes.

Previously unseen on the leaked image are the Liverpool logo debossed on the upper’s heel, as well as the disparate branding on the footbed. One an abbreviation of the club’s “You’ll Never Walk Alone” anthem, the other, of Fenway Sports Group, the umbrella that owns them.

LINEAs it were for Jordan and Paris Saint-Germain, so it is for LeBron and Liverpool. LeBron James has taken a lot of pages from Michael Jordan and he’s still taking notes. He’s learned not only His Airness’ moves on the court, but also the moves off it.

For those who didn’t know, LeBron James actually owns a 2% stake in the football team since 2011 and in 2020, plans were announced that a full collection that would “rival” that between the Jumpman and PSG were in the pipeline. A pipeline that has stretched three years before anything saw the light of day.

For the fans of the Reds, it may well be worth the wait. It was reported recently on Liverpool’s official website that the full collection is arriving soon. While there are no images of the full kit just yet, a leaked image credited to @oklai19 does ascertain the LeBron 20 will be part of the fray.

Crimson suede washes over the upper, relegating its staple LenoWeave tooling to the throat. There adjacent, is the leather cap on the tongue, embellished with the King’s signature. Aside from personal imprints, the dual-stacked Swooshes on the lateral features the outer layer in a snakeskin finish. It’s encased in a black frame that also dresses the exposed foundation it presides over.

Black makes one more appearance on the subtle lace stitching before working its final act on the translucent outsole underfoot. Moreover the team’s colors outfitting the pair, the partnership comes full circle by way of the golden metal dubrae, engraved with Liverpool’s insignia.

The LeBron 20 “Liverpool” is scheduled for release on 9 February for US$200 along with the rest of the collection. Neither party has disclosed any official images but they should arrive in the coming weeks.

While waiting, check out the Tiffany & Co. x Nike Air Force 1 Low “1837”, another premium collaboration happening in Nike Town.
