[Update 27 Mar 2023] The New Balance 1906R “Indigo”, originally speculated to be a part of AURALEE’s next New Balance collab, has surfaced online as an NB inline pair in a limited release collection.

Featuring a hand-dyed Indigo upper complete with worn-in details like a de-colorized outsole, the latest rendition of the Boston house’s popular lifestyle model is an instant head turner. Alongside the early images, it’s reported that this colorway will drop on 30 Mar 2023 in Taiwan and South Korea with a KRW149,000 (~US$114) price tag. Also included in this special release are a pair of New Balance 2002R and another 530—both hand-dyed to showcase a similar vintage wash effect.

LineAfter a strong 2022, the New Balance 1906R continues to make its presence felt in the new year with a series of collaborative colorways and styles lined up; New Balance also gave us some fresh takes via its own inline offerings.

Now, another interesting colorway has surfaced, dressing the hype model in a broody indigo shade. The New Balance 1906R “Indigo” was first spotted by sneaker site Up To Date.

Constructed in a mix of mesh and suede, this pair is unique in that its mesh upper sports an indigo blue hue that’s reminiscent of the Japanese Indigo dyeing technique. Leather overlays in a lighter shade of slate blue lay atop the mesh. Part of the outsoles are colored in varying shades of indigo too, adding to its rustic DIY aesthetic.

Not much is known about this pair and colorway, but expect to see the same New Balance tech like ABZORB and N-ergy cushioning, along with the 1906R’s N-Lock lacing system on this model. Stay tuned for the latest updates on the New Balance 1906R “Indigo”
