LBJ Gifts His Alma Matter Their Own Nike LeBron 20 “SVSM”
A full-circle homage to the King's roots.
More than two decades ago, LeBron James wore several PEs across all brands while playing for St. Vincent-St. Mary High School. He’s worn Kobe and McGrady’s adidas, Allen Iverson’s Reebok, and of course, some Swooshes and Jordans. The “Chosen One”, he was touted, the “King”. And he lived up to every bit of the hype and then some. 20 signature shoes with Nike is enough a testament. 20!
As he’s on the tail-end of his active playing days, he changes his focus to elevate his young successors. That was the LeBron 20 was designed for, and that’s what its namesake has set out to do. Nothing’s more apropos than gifting his alma matter a colorway he would’ve worn as a young cub.
Leaked images offer a first look at the upcoming tribute sneakers. Titled “SVSM”, the pair sports a team-colored green upper throughout out the LenoWeave fabric, the eyestays and laces, the tongue and the interior. The uniformity’s only interrupted by the gold present in the underlayer of the double Swooshes on the lateral, and the singular one on the medial.
White lands on the outer Check as well as the rear of the midsole. From there, it splits duties with the golden outsole underfoot. Easily, the highlight of the pair would be SVSM’s leprechaun affixed on the heel counter.
There’s no word yet about a release date or a price point, with the only lead coming from what the leaked images can offer. But with the fully-constructed pair on display, more information should be making its way up the surface.
Till then, have a look at a sample of the Louis Vuitton x Nike Blazer.
