Line

Since its inception in 2011, the quintessentially Los Angelean streetwear label, BornxRaised, has partered with Converse, 424, Carhartt, amongst many others. This year, they can add the Swoosh to their already impressive portfolio of collaborations.

Images of a singular piece from the collection were leaked late last year. Engulfing it are their signatures, from the hallmark gothic fonts, to the conspicuous homage to their beloved home. Nothing embodies the brand quite like the motifs on the varsity jacket, and nothing embodies LA quite like the brand.

Spanto and 2Tone started BornxRaised to counter the gentrification of their city, to tell the unfiltered stories that form the core and legend of its identity. Every piece will tell a story. While the aforementioned varsity jacket will serve as one chapter in the book, not much is known about the others, bar one: the Nike SB Dunk Low.

For now, the pair is an enigma with only the image of its outsole depicted. Nevertheless, it ascertains its existence. From what’s discernible, the SB Dunks will feature a translucent rubber outsole with a special co-branded design underfoot. There’re so many facets of LA that can serve as an influence to its aesthetic. But that’s esoteric knowledge only its makers know.

More images and information should arrive soon before long. While waiting, have a first look at the Nike Dunk Low 85 “Athletic Company”, a pair of Dunk Lows that gives a nod to the strong pedigree of the Swoosh.
