Nike Air Force 1 Mid React Gets a Cool “Summit White” Colorway

The Air Force 1 celebrates its 40th anniversary this year. Since 1982, Bruce Kilgore’s most famous brainchild has endured the ebb and flow of the sneaker culturist’s ever-evolving palate. Experiencing ubiquity for a time period, then relegating, before making another climb in the next decade. Through all these years, the Mids have always played third fiddle to its High and Low siblings. Not forever though.

Between celebratory colorways and collaborations, once in awhile, there’s a design—like Cinderella’s Glass Slipper—that’s just the perfect fit for the Mids. One such is the “Summit White”. This iteration sees an amalgamation of old and new. While the forefoot retains its look from the ’80s, the rest of the silhouette gets a complete contemporary overhaul, looking like an entirely different shoe.

Paired with Nike’s React foam technology, it features transparent mesh portions towards the collar, and a perforated leather velcro strap on the heel. Between the all-white and ‘colorless’ scheme, is a touch of blue on the tongue tag and the buckle of the aforementioned strap.

Aside from the official images, there isn’t much information on this pair yet like a release date or price tag. But trust that we’ll have them for you as soon as the Nike summit sends word down to our base camp.

As cool and calm as the Summit White is, it has a wilder and erratic counterpart in the Off-White x Nike Air Force 1 Mid SP LTHR.
