From the ’90s ’til Infinity: Starter LFS 1 Sneaker
The paragon of vintage nostalgia.
Nothing embodies the fashion zeitgeist of the 1990s quite like Starter. It’s the epitome of vintage fashion, to this day. Streetwear has a long, rich pedigree and high up that family tree is where they sit. The American sportswear brand that inherently started it all. They made up the image of hip-hop, styled its clothes, their work appearing on the biggest screens like the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and Coming to America.
It’s been decades since their zenith and even when it seems they’ve been relegated out of the mainstream, their cult following keeps them tethered to it. This following consisting of the most ardent fans of vintage nostalgia.
With a renewed appreciation for the old, the iron is warming up again for the legendary American sportswear brand and they’re about to strike. Expanding their catalogue beyond their hallmark varsity jackets and other team-inspired apparel, they’re bringing in footwear into the fold. At the vanguard of this new collection is the titular LFS 1 sneaker.
Full grain tumbled leather forms the body of the shoe, while the three-color option of blue, green, and red gives it life. It’s a clean look, channeling the same spirit as other familiar offerings like the Nike Air Force 1s or Dunk Lows. Similarly, brogues land on the toe box with branding elements arriving on the lateral midsole, and the die-cut logo stitched onto the lateral quarter.
It’s on these parts where the colors adorn the pair, in addition to the heel tab and sockliner, as well as the exposed stitching on the vestibule of the upper and sole unit.
They’re currently available on Starter.com with a price tag of US$85 attached to them.
Elsewhere, a release date for the Nike Air Jordan 1 Low “Black Cement” have come to light.
