Nike SB Force 58 “Dark Grey/White” is an Upgrade of the Usual AF1
Skating tech meets basketball silhouette.
One of Nike’s newer innovations, the Nike SB Force 58 is an upgrade of the Air Force 1 that is gaining traction among skaters and streetwear stompers alike. Think the classic silhouette amplified with durability of a cupsole and the flexibility of a skate-ready vulcanised shoe. The airy perforations of the Air Force 1 remains in-tact, infusing the whole enhanced silhouette with heritage basketball DNA. Its relatively new status has prompted the Swoosh to periodically release new colorways, the latest of which is this “Dark Grey/White” look.
As hinted by its name, dark grey suede overlays wrap around the mudguard and eyelets to establish a moodier palette. The laces and sock lining follow suit in the same tonal shade while the branded padded tongue is accented with a bright orange Swoosh. The partially covered side Swoosh utilises the same color, but is constructed of a smooth leather. For balance, the heel panel and toebox contrast the darker tones in a softer grey suede.
A special point of the Nike SB Force 58 is its mix of suede and canvas as opposed to the AF1’s leather, and the canvas base in this iteration is slightly tinged with grey. The soles follow in the same color scheme. Overall, it’s an easy day-to-day shoe that’s fuss-free and durable — adjectives suitable for a sports enthusiast on the go.
