Nike Air Jordan 37 Joins the “Year of the Rabbit” Family
Rabbits continue to proliferate the Jumpman gene pool.
As Chinese New Year becomes more imminent by the week, new special iterations have been surfacing in succession. Thus far in the “Year of the Rabbit” collection are the Luka 1, Air Jordan 1 High Zoom CMFT 2, Jordan Legacy 312, Air Jordan XX3, and the brand quintessence, the Air Jordan 1 Low OG. The latest subsumed is the titular Air Jordan 37.
Neutral tones make a strong presence on the pair, save for the hits of color on the tongue, collar, as well as the signature outsole that heavily borrows from the Air Jordan 7. Sail makes up most of the upper, framing the achromatic leno weave material that shapes the toe box all the way through to the heel.
Moving on to its finer details comes the red panel on the tongue where the Jumpman is imprinted in gold surrounded by decorative floral embroidery. Two lined stitches preside over it on the right pair, with three lines on the other. The collar in olive, contrasted against the off-white body below is introduced with a textured suede finish. On the underside hides the “YOTR” imprint on the tag. Red fills the interior while its golden pairing is presented on the heel tab. The aforementioned is adorned with a Jumpman imprint over a red base and golden frames. Below it features its namesake’s autograph.
The Jumpman further sets up shop on the footbed, lateral heel, and outsole, all embellished in gold. Very Lunar New Year apropo. The box itself will be thematic, bearing the colors of the collection, and feature a new, atypical geometric make.
A release date hasn’t been ascertained in any official capacity by Nike but it’s to be expected the pair will drop sometime in late January, in line with the holiday. When they do next year, find them on Nike.com with a RRP of US$185.
