A BATHING APE®, a brand established in Tokyo in 1993, will debut a line called “JAPAN CULTURE” that is influenced by traditional Japanese practices and culture. The graphics were made by collage artist and one of Japan’s top creatives, Kosuke Kawamura, to honor this historic collection. It is brilliantly expressed through the Hiroshima-born artist’s signature shredder collage mash-up style.

The camouflage that represents BAPE® has been grouped into graphics like family crests and Japanese motifs for the “Sashiko Series,” which includes a lineup of kimono jackets and shirt jackets. In addition, a variety of traditional Japanese hues are created for the zip-up hoodie using plant and natural dyes. With graphics influenced by Japanese stores, the “Japan Graphic Series” uses the Japanese language to represent BAPE®’s iconic phrases like the foundation year and “APE SHALL NEVER KILL APE.”

The collection contains pieces that are modeled after kimonos, kendo gi, and customary Japanese work garb like the apron. Prices range from ¥11,000 (≈US$81) for accessories to ¥47,300 (≈US$346) for apparel and are now available online at BAPE®.

Elsewhere in the realm of fashion, N.HOOLYWOOD x MADNESS is another collaboration worth checking out.
