[Update 11 Jan 2023] A new release date has been confirmed for the upcoming Air Jordan 5 “Aqua”. The pair will release on Nike SNKRS and select retailers come 8th April 2023 in a full family size run, with the adult sizes retailing at US$200, GS at US$150, PS at US$90 and TD at US$75 respectively.
Come 2023, the Jumpman Brand will let the guns go bang. Here’s another bullet in the chamber. The Air Jordan 5 “Aqua”, a nod to Jordan Brand and NBA veteran Chris Paul’s tenure with the Charlotte Hornets, derivative of his own PE.
The homage is as clear as water in the alps with the Aquatone colors accenting the pair in its most conspicuous areas: on the Jumpman embroidered on the heel counter and tongue; the underside of the latter; the lace locks; the speckles on the serrated graphics on the midsoles; and lastly, the crystal rubber outsole.
Adding variance to the above and predominantly black nubuck upper, Taxi yellow adorns the P-51 Mustang-inspired imprint on the midsole, the entirety of the footbed, as well as the “AIR JORDAN” panel stitched on the inside of the tongue.
The titular pair doesn’t at all deviate from its OG in terms of shape and form. The hallmark mesh window, the 3M reflective tongue, the air bubble unit on the heel, and other familiar toolings are a mainstay.
A release date has been scheduled for 21 January, 2023 on SNKRS with a RRP of US$200.
