ASICS has been seen with various collaboration, with many leaning towards a more classic approach to footwear. But one notable project in 2021 was with European collective KASSL Editions, when the duo joined forces for a non-profit footwear release to support the mental health charity. Taking the feedback from customers and people of the industry, the duo reflects on the explorative idea through an upcoming collaborative release.

Partnering up for a special project, the duo revisits the running icon “GEL-NIMBUS 9” for a retro-futuristic rendition. Taking the fundamentals of their own designs, KASSL Editions dips the sneaker in their signature oil coating, which provides a protective shield from water while giving a contrasting shine to its dark aesthetics. With all pairs hand-crafted by the European label, the sneaker will see a limited run of 150 pairs.

Set to release on 1st December, the KASSL Editions x ASICS GEL-NIMBUS 9 will be made available exclusively via KASSL Editions and Dover Street Market London in-stores and online.
