Nike Air Max 90 Futura “Valentine’s Day 2023” is the Cherry on Top
As sweet as cherries.
[Update 27 Jan 2023] Official images of the Nike Air Max 90 Futura “Valentine’s Day 2023” have recently emerged.
While it was earlier perceived to be a regular Nike Air Max 90, it turns out that this “Valentine’s Day 2023” silhouette is utilising a Air Max 90 Futura model instead. While it does largely carry the same look as its predecessor, it’s designed exclusively for women’s and carries more details on its overlays.
While there’s still no word on a release date, do expect this Air Max 90 Futura “Valentine’s Day 2023” as well as the Air Force 1 that carries the same romantic cherry motifs to release in the coming weeks as we grow closer and closer to Cupid’s holiday. Expect to find these on Nike and select retailers at a retail price of US$150.
While Nike might have gotten its start through a series of unplanned but innovative releases back in the 60s to 70s, the brand’s contemporary pipeline has since planned ahead for notable events and figureheads. Valentine’s Day, especially, has become a day where the Swoosh will indulge in the flirtatious palette of the celebrations and release red or pink-themed kicks. The upcoming year is no different, with an Air Max 90 outfitted in lovely elements.
In images provided by @fuel_backdoor, the Air Max utilises a white base, but layers on a gentle wash of yellow along its eyelets and medial length. Heels and ankle panels take on a deeper cherry red, while the collar lining and heel tabs are dipped in strawberry pink. The representative side Swoosh is doubled, with the bigger of the two in white while a smaller tick adorns itself in pink. Most eye-catching, though, has to be the maroon Nike hangtag with two heart-shaped cherries hanging off the Swoosh. This distinctively Y2K-esque motif carries into the insole, which features the same graphic.
No release dates have been revealed, but we expect it to come up near February next year. In the meantime, could we interest you in this yellow hearted Dunk Lows slated for Valentine’s Day 2023?
