An ACG classic gets a contemporary update.

It’s hard to compete with a brand with such a storied history. This year alone, from anniversary releases to revivals, Nike has relied plenty on its pedigree, digging deep into into their archives, using their past as a launching pad to propel themselves forward.

Such example of this formula at work is the ACG Air Moc, first released in 1994. Now succeeded by the Air Moc 3.5, the sleek slip-on pair has been an ACG mainstay with some very recent reiterations. Nevertheless, a contemporary update is in order. While it retains the cord and toggle fastening system on the heel, it foregoes the singular suede makeup of its forebears. Instead, a synthetic textile forms the entirety of the upper with an allover perforation.

The insoles feature a topographic embossment, a motif the Swoosh has incorporated into many of its recent models. Over to the rear, the heel tab holding the fastening system is reinforced with presumably the same material as Nike Grind giving it a greyscale stonewashed aesthetic. Underfoot comes a series of spaced-out triangles that forms the holistic sole unit.

Aside from the images, not much is known about this most-recent iteration of the ACG Air Moc “Black Polka Dot” and a release date nor a price point have been disclosed at the time of writing. But considering the nature of the footwear, it should arrive within the coming fall and winter months.

In other upcoming Nike releases with the same seasonal overhaul, check out the Nike Dunk Low LX “Pink Foam”, replacing the usual leather build with a suede makeup.
