Celebrated for his unique ability to blend elements of streetwear and workwear, Japanese fashion designer Fumito Ganryu has partnered up with Converse once again.

The Baskate Shoes, a pair that combines the utility of skating with basketball, the sneaker’s form is modeled off Converse’s ERX 260 design, which was very popular with NBA stars in the 1980s.

Including elements from skateboarding footwear while keeping the iconic ERX 260 silhouette’s overall design. On the tongues of the Baskate, the traditional “CONS” emblem is also imprinted, albeit slightly larger. The upper to the sole is coated in a sleek black, in contrast to conventional ERX 260 models, which nearly invariably have a white base. The shoes include ankle support in addition to Converse’s “ENERGY WAVE” midsoles for improved cushioning.

The Fumito Ganryu x Converse is now available for purchase on Converse and Fumito Ganryu at a retail price of ¥29,700 (≈US$210).
