[Update 12 Jan 2023] Detailed looks have come to light through reliable sneaker leaker @prvt.selection. With a release date confirmed, some product images shared, now’s left is for Nike to disclose the official ones and finally put the shoe out.

[Update 27 Dec 2022] Enjoy a live look at the titular “Vibrations of Naija” iteration of the godfather of all sneakers. The earlier mockup does hit the mark at least when it comes to the color palette. But like most things, it definitely looks better in real life.

A textured finish lands on the ankle collar and Swooshes, with the aesthetic transferred to an imprint on the tongue tag. Sail laces match the outsole underfoot, as it does on the debossed Jordan Wings on the collar jacket.

There isn’t much shedding light on the backstory of the model nor its poetic name. The status quo remains when it comes to its release details, nevertheless.

LINE

Jordan Brand’s 2023 calendar is pack full of retro releases and joining the fray will be the godfather of them all, Peter Moore’s magnum opus: the Air Jordan 1. The archetypal silhouette will get a contemporary overhaul, joining the “Craft” series that already includes an iteration of the AJ 1 Low and the Mid.

There are no leaked photos to ascertain any information about the pair like the final colorway but since it is part of the aforementioned series, then the design principle of the group will apply. So aside from colorway, expect to see some deconstructionism, a multi-material construction to be integrated as well. The image featured is a mockup, courtesy of SneakerFiles.com.

From what’s discernible, the pair will return in a Pale Vanilla, Sail and Black color trifecta. The first making up the base, with the second working on the die-cut Swooshes on the profile and the overlays. The last will saddle up as branding elements like the Nike tongue tag and the Jordan Wings logo on the collar.

The pair is expected to be released on 27 May next year with a price tag of US$180. Since the release is far from imminent, dates may be shifted around. If they do however, we’ll make sure the word gets to you.
