Are Drake and Nike Surprise Dropping the “6 Swoosh” Collection?
The 6 God and the Swoosh cooking up something?
Drake once famously said, “It didn’t mean anything unless it had a Swoosh.”
The Canadian rapper, who grew up wearing Nike-branded items, has been collaborating with the Oregon footwear giant since their first pair of Air Jordan (an AJ10 in two colorways) in 2013. Almost a decade into their partnership, Drake and Nike are set to drop another collaborative sneaker this holiday season— the NOCTA x Nike Air Force 1 Low “Certified Lover Boy”.
First unveiled during his Certified Lover Boy era, the release of this “CLB” Air Force 1 was apparently delayed due to production difficulties. Now, Drake fans might have one more reason to rejoice. A leak from sneaker account @ovrundr.io is suggesting that there might be more Drake x Nike collaborations coming soon.
A picture of six white Nike Swooshes neatly arranged in a row, and another of Drake wearing a shirt featuring a similar “6 swoosh” motif and the OVO owl logo were posted onto the account—with @champagnepapi himself tagged—alluding that a release is imminent.
For the uninitiated, this isn’t the first time that Drake x Nike “6 Swoosh” has made an appearance. The 6 Swoosh is a tongue-in-cheek nod to his “6 God” title, and has been spotted on various apparel as early as 2019. This OVO x Nike apparel collection was originally rumored to arrive early 2020 but a drop never happened.
Why did the 6 Swoosh collab resurface now? Will the 6 God be gifting us a surprise release? We can only hope.
