[Update 10 Nov] The atmos x Face Studio x adidas Samba approaches as a release date of 19th November has been confirmed by Face Studio. In the meantime, check out the latest campaign and on-hand photos of the sneaker.
Originally created as an indoor soccer shoe, the adidas Samba has been experiencing a surge in popularity of late. Now, the German footwear giant is teaming up with Japanese retailer atmos and artist face oka of Face Studio for a unique spin on the heritage model.
First spotted by sneaker account @le.syndrome, the atmos x Face Studio x adidas Samba comes in a full black leather and suede upper, with the adidas Three Stripes in white. Tiny white daisy flowers (that remind us of G-Dragon’s PEACEMINUSONE) are embroidered all over the adidas Samba, adding some tongue in cheek.
Face oka is known for his depiction of upside-down faces in his artworks, and, here on the rear, we get an upright smile on the left heel and his trademark upside-down smile on the right. Elsewhere, the tongue label also includes text like “b. 1985” that likely allude to the young Japanese artist and his birth year.
The atmos x Face Studio x adidas Samba is set to drop later this year. Stay tuned for the latest updates here on SNKRDUNK Magazine!
