Kevin Durant’s basketball career has always been tethered to his long love of music, exemplified in his ground-breaking, three-way collaboration with hip-hop’s most reverent producers: 9th Wonder, Boi-1da, and Cardo. Each artist given their own colorway of the KD 15.

The Slim Reaper will further this homage in lieu of the 50th anniversary of the genre, delivering an Off-White-inspired version of the KD 15 for one of its final iterations before the imminent release of his 16th signature.

Nylon fabric take to the stage first in a barrage of dark tones, moving along the tongue and inner lining. It then melds with the high-end tumbled leather finish on the heel. The model adopts a more understated appearance elsewhere, with no KD branding at the usual placement on the tongue, but a monochromatic Hip-Hop tongue tags as seen on the thematic, celebratory Nike Dunk High “Nike Classic”.

A vibrant “Sail” hue envelops the mid-foot caging system and bleeds onto the Air Zoom midsole underneath for a lively contrast, illuminating the latter via subtle touches of cream mixed into the stitching of the upper forefoot. It is finished with dangling golden metallic microphone emblems and Easy Money branding on the heel and insoles.

They’re expected be released next month. Find them on Nike’s brick-and-click stores then with an RRP of US$150.
