[Update 7 Nov] The KITH x ASICS EX-89 collection is finally here. Set to release on 7th November, the collection will be made available via KITH online and in-store at KITH Tokyo for $130 a pair.

[Update 28 Oct 2022] Closer looks of this KITH x ASICS EX-89 have been revealed, courtesy of Ronnie Fieg’s Instagram Story. The series of photographs confirm that there will be a third colorway — white/gray mix that is understated but premium. Though official release dates are still obscure, we believe that more information will arrive soon enough. Especially since the collaborative pairs were photographed with KITH’s winter collection. It often catches people by surprise to hear that KITH has only been around for 11 years given its pervasion in the streetwear scene and its prolific portfolio of sneaker collaborations. More than just a premium retail destination, KITH’s branding is now synonymous with a type of modern sophistication — a reputation that is strengthened with every project the Ronnie Fieg-founded retailer is part of.

And as with many of the label’s previous partnerships, Ronnie Fieg usually drops a few teasers on his own Instagram page to drum up anticipation, even for projects with long-term partner ASICS. The latest of which is a collection geared for winter on the ASICS EX-89, an older model that has been dug up from the Japanese brand’s archives.

Injecting the dated runner a premium elevation, the upper undergoes a suede reconstruction under KITH’s makeover. This quality material even appears along the perforated toebox. Cream lands on the laces and tongue, with the latter carrying KITH’s wordmark in cursive embroidery. This revamped silhouette will be made available in two colors, bright orange and an off-white accented with royal blue, likely a nod to the New York Knicks, the NBA team that Ronnie Fieg designed jerseys for. A cream rubber sole with ASICS’ branding rounds out the look for both colorways.

No official release dates have accompanied the founder’s Instagram teaser, but we expect to see this KITH x ASICS EX-89 collection drop in 2022. In the meantime, why not check out more images in the top slider?

In other upcoming KITH x ASICS collaboration, this Gel-Lyte III “Super Orange” is in the works too.
