Have a Heroic Dose of the Grateful Dead x thisisneverthat® Collection
A collection between one of South Korea's best exports, and one of history's most iconic rock bands.
Seoul-based label thisisneverthat® has been busy in 2022 having just released a collection with GRAMICCI and Champion. Soon after, they’ve another on the way with cult-favorite, iconic psychedelic rock band, Grateful Dead. Many might not recall their discography, but they live on the in the zeitgeist through their iconographies, starting with the famous graphic bears that debuted on the band’s 1973 album, The History of the Grateful Dead, Volume 1 (Bear’s Choice).
The notorious dancing bear and the “Steal Your Face” 13-point lightning bolt symbols used to be a way for the band to mark their equipments, but now they’ve far transcended their original purpose. This time, they make their mark on a series of retro-style pieces from long and short-sleeved t-shirts, knitted cardigans and hoodies, canvas workwear jackets, jeans, beanie hats, bottoms, as well as a Bear graphic tufted rug and a cup.
The Grateful Dead x thisisneverthat® collection is scheduled for release on 28th October on the latter’s brick-and-click, but a pre-sale pop-up will be held from the 21st at E()PTY with the first two days to feature performances from South Korean artists Balming Tiger and Silica Gel.
