There was a time in the mid-2010s when the NMDs single-handedly helped the Three Stripes “Swoosh” past everyone in the market to take pole position in terms of popularity. And at the vanguard of it all is Pharrell Williams x adidas Originals HU NMD.

While its time in the sun has come and gone, it seems to be making an attempt at a comeback with this rumored release. The NMD, by its own making is a modern classic, a groundbreaking shoe perfectly amalgamating the art and science of sneaker design. If all the moving parts—its aesthetic and the execution of its release—can move together once more, it will indubitably bring about a revival.

There isn’t much information to lead off of except for the leaked image from an anonymous source, but it is believed that only 300 pairs will be distributed worldwide and will be an atmos-exclusive in Japan.

The pair will feature an olive BOOST sole unit and laces with a camouflage embroidery on the PRIMEKNIT upper, along with a gum rubber cages on the lateral and medial. Lastly, adidas’ Trefoil logo rests over a white leather strip on the heel.
