Nike has just released another Air Force 1 in celebration of the model’s 40th anniversary, and this time it comes complete with a holster to keep your hangtag safe. As with the the hoard of celebration designs that the Swoosh has released this year for the basketball silhouette, the appeal is in the details.

Specifically, one look and your eyes will inevitably be drawn to the golden coin-shaped hangtag tucked into the Swoosh’s built-in holster. Perhaps an homage to the AF1’s basketball roots, this snug pocket would allow wearers to dash across the squeaky courts without worrying that their accessory would be flung away. Midas’ touch is also applied onto the metal dubrae and AIR branding on the midsole. Instead of the usual Nike branding at the heel, gold vertical lines that end in stars occupy the space.

But beyond a pretty exterior is an even more elegant interior. The luxe red insole is branded with “Just Do It” and 2023 written in Roman numerals for a fancier finish. To allow all these flourishes to pop, the rest of the design takes on a simple, pristine white.

Though no release dates have made an appearance, it is likely to drop in 2022 in line with the 40th Anniversary. In the meantime, get closer looks of the design in the top slider!
