Reebok is seeing a resurgence almost reminiscent of its zenith in decades past. While their many classics are experiencing new life through collaborations with other designers and intellectual properties like Maison Margiela on the Instapump Fury and Street Fighter on the Shaq Attaq, they nevertheless remain one of the most forward-thinking brands in the sportswear and lifestyle space.

The introduction of their signature Floatride Energy Foam technology ascertains that they haven’t abandoned their proclivities in producing performance shoes, as much as they’ve thrived on the retrofitting of their back catalogue. The technology have lent itself to various silhouettes since its inception and one in particular is the Floatride Energy X, a performance-focused runner part of their [Ree]cycled collection.

As fast as they can help the wearer run, Reebok stays ahead giving the silhouette an avant-garde take; a convergence of fashion, form and function. The aesthetic of the sole unit remains in its original form with the upper getting a major overhaul through the meticulously-crafted TPU shield that envelopes the fore. There, a unique lacing system is installed with four prongs jutting out to hold the laces in places, allowing for varied lacing configurations depending on one’s preference.

There’re four colorways available with this “Core Black” and beige making an appearance ahead of the other two. A release date has yet to be announced but expect them to appear on Reebok.com and select retailers within the coming months.

Here’s another pair that similarly features a TPU cage if a futuristic silhouette is your cup of tea, check out the adidas Roverend Adventure “Crystal White”.
