Chelsea boots are quite considered a wardrobe classic, especially when the weather turns cold during the fall season. Crafted with minimal detailing on the uppers, the shoe’s sole purpose was initially just to ensure that it is comfortable and easy to wear. So how much more can a pair of chelsea boot offer? Japanese designer Takahiro Miyashita has the answer.

Partnering up with renowned sports label ASICS, TAKAHIROMIYASHITA TheSoloist. has came up with a more technical take on the traditional boots. Inspired by rock bands that Miyashita loves, polished leather forms the upper, with suede that accents the heels and pull tab. Elastic bands around the ankle area also allows for easy slip on and off while keeping the classic chelsea boot look.

Primarily found on the GEL-QUANTUM 360 VII models, the body is equipped with ASICS’ Squtoid GEL technology on the midsoles with FF BLAST cushioning to provide better comfort and also reduce stress on the foot plane.

Retailing at JPY36,300 (~US$250), the TAKAHIROMIYASHITA TheSoloist. x ASICS GEL-QUANTUM 360 VII is set to release on 14th October via TAKAHIROMIYASHITA TheSoloist, ASICS and selected retailers.
