Beginning with the KD 4 in 2012, Kevin Durant has always dedicated at least one iteration of his signature to his beloved Aunt Pearl, who passed away from lung cancer in 2000. A decade on in 2022, and now on the KD 15, the heartfelt tradition carries on.

Like its predecessor, the titular shoe comes in a tonal, bold monochromatic pink, with a multi-material mix. Floral is a motif that connects most of the detailing on the pair. Embroidery of it runs through the tongue as well as the the patch that rests above it, carrying the “kd” logo. Stitching of a rose appear on both the lateral and medial sides of the heel. Between them, a singular stalk of the flower is imprinted on the heel tab of the left pair, the right “Aunt Pearl”.

The Swooshes carries a stained glass-styling while the wing cage surrounding it depicts a topographic pattern, as it does underfoot on the translucent outsole. Through it also, a marble pattern can be discerned. Proceeds from the sales will go to the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.

There’s no release date yet but it’s expected to go for US$160 in the coming months on Nike.com and select retailers.

Elsewhere, the Swoosh and Hong Kong Olympic fencer Cheung Ka Long for a special edition of a classic. Check out the Nike Cheung Ka Long Air Max 97.
