[Update 30 Sep] New images of the collection have recently surfaced offering us a better look at the incoming regal collection. The campaign features Juancho Hernangomez who recently starred with Adam Sandler in this year’s Netflix film “Hustler”. The player recently signed a one-year deal with the Raptors.

The previously-mentioned varsity jacket is now on full display on Hernangomez’s back with the golden embroidery in all its glory. The motif is applied to a hoodie as well and the graphics imprinted on a pair of jeans. It’s believed that the first was made in collaboration with Jeff Hamilton, the designer known for his custom jackets for celebrities, one seen on one of Kobe’s most iconic photos—the ‘sad’ Mamba after winning his second championship.

Once again, the collection will drop today, 30th September on OVO’s stores.

Drake has been a fixture in NBA games for about a decade now. It’s not uncommon to see celebrities sitting courtside but Drake has always used whatever means he has an audience member to the benefit of his supporting team. Many times he’s seen trash talking with players on the opposing end, as seen on full display during the 2019 NBA Finals between his hometown franchise Toronto Raptors against Stephen Curry’s Golden State Warriors.

He’s fiercely loyal to his city and its team so it wasn’t long before he would function with them in an official capacity. In 2013, he became global ambassador for the Raptors ushering in a new era for the young team. With that said, it’s no surprise his OVO label would gain access to the league’s IP of 30 teams to produce an apparel collection together.

Information is scarce at the moment but from what we know, it will include a varsity jacket carrying the various franchises’ logos, embroidered in OVO’s golden signature together with their Owl mascot. An official Wilson NBA game ball replica seems to be included too. As far as sports apparel go, it’s safe to assume caps will be on the menu as well.

The collection will drop on 30th September on OVO’s brick and click.
