Nike Air Jordan 7 “Cardinal” Is Making a Comeback for the First Time in 10 Years
Featuring the OG Cardinal colors.
Hot on the heels of the Air Jordan 1 High “Lost and Found”, FKA “Chicago Reimagined”, Nike’s Jordan Brand continues to surprise fans with another retro release. This time, the spotlight is on the Air Jordan 7 “Cardinal”.
Last seen in 2011, the original AJ7 “Cardinal” has all the makings of a cult classic. The Cardinal colorway features a predominantly white leather upper, peppered with classic red accents and details that pay homage to His Airness himself, including a triangular 23 logo at the heel. From Nike’s official images, it looks like the 2022 re-release is staying true to the OG, retaining most of the Cardinal’s signature details.
Outfitted in a similar tumbled leather, perforations can be seen on the entire forefoot through to the collar. “Cardinal Red” accents adorn the midsole, heel, and liner; while “Chutney Yellow” dresses the embroidered Jumpman logo at the collar and the heel pull tab. The Air Jordan 7 Cardinal is also remembered for its layered Air Jordan branding on the tongue, and this detail is being faithfully reproduced, too.
The Air Jordan 7 “Cardinal” was originally supposed to drop in November, but now has its release date pushed back to 17 December. Stay tuned for the latest updates.
