Is a Haider Ackermann x Fila surprise sneaker drop about to happen? What will a Ackermann-designed Fila Disrupter look like? And—more importantly—would you wear one?

Haider Ackermann, stylist-designer-friend to some of Hollywood’s most stylish stars Timothée Chalamet and Tilda Swinton and master of impeccable tailoring, announced his upcoming collaboration with Fila on his Instagram, sending shock waves through the fashion and sneaker community.

Ackermann wrote, “I was quite surprised when I was contacted by FILA with the idea to collaborate. Unknown things make my heart beat faster, because I believe in the power of the unexpected, so I willingly took on the challenge – excited to see you all in Manchester!”

In an accompanying press release, he also expressed that delving into Fila’s archives opened his eyes to the elegance of sportsmen when they are on the field, and he hopes to express this sense of freeness through this partnership. The one-off Haider Ackermann x Fila collab will include menswear, womenswear and accessories and debut at a show in Manchester, UK on 17 November.

In the announcement post, Ackermann himself was photographed wearing a plain white tee and slouchy trousers combo. Interestingly, to complete the look, the fashion designer wore a pair of white high-top sneakers that has been ID-ed as a pair of Undercover x Converse Chuck 70 from 2019.

Will this Haider Ackermann x Fila collection bring us an elevated collaborative sneaker? Guess we will find out 17 November.
