First Look at Another Coveted Takashi Murakami x READYMADE︎® Collaboration
The pair once again brings new life to old items.
Japan has a strong proclivity for having the most interesting exports, but perhaps none like the enigmatic and eccentric Takashi Murakami, and few as highly-coveted as a READYMADE︎® collaborative piece. Any amalgam of their output is enough steam for the hype train to go off the rails, or rather—off the racks.
This’s far from their first foray into making sought-after clothing pieces together, and come hell or high water, this wouldn’t be the last. It’s a match made in heaven. Yuta Hosokawa’s READYMADE︎® is known for reworking vintage U.S. Army surplus into high-fashion items, while Murakami’s art epitomizes vibrancy in the contemporary art world; both breathing new life into products of the past.
Following up their last release together with a pair of shorts and most recently a pair of jeans, they reapply their modus operandi onto a new fishtail parka they aptly called, “FISHTAIL PARK”. The outerwear is said to be made of repurposed U.S. Army tents, while Murakami’s signature smiling flowers embellish the utility piece on both sleeves through appliqué embroidery. The former’s logo decorate the back while the latter’s on the chest.
There currently is no release date yet or any other information attached to them aside from the photo posted on @readymade_official. Stay put, you’ll hear it from us once news is made ready, or readymade.
