SNKRS Korea’s Exclusive Air Force 1 Release is Hot & Spicy
Streetwear meets its partner in crime—street food.
Nike will release an Air Force 1 Low in a special colorway titled “Pojangmacha” to celebrate SNKRS Korea’s 5th anniversary. It will be a Korea–exclusive release.
The colorway pays homage to South Korea’s famous tent-cart food stalls that sell popular street snacks and drinks such as tteokbokki (rice cakes), odeng (fish cake skewers in broth) and sundae (Korean blood sausage). The silhouette has a white base with a Mantra Orange leather overlay throughout the upper, inspired by the red coloured tarpaulins that originally covered the carts frequented with late night get-togethers.
Mouthwatering details include tent-inspired pull tabs at the heel and tongue tags and dubraes in a teal color, referencing drink bottles that were typically served to accompany snacks sold at pojangmachas. A unique feature are the street snack illustrations on the insole. The left features sotteok (sausage and rice cake skewers) while the right pictures an odeng skewer. Cream coloured midsoles complete the design.
The sneakers will be released exclusively on the SNKRS Korea website on 25th September. Retail price is set at KR₩139,000 (~US$150). Take a look at the Toggle Nike Air Force 1 for more Korea-exclusive editions.
