Alas, a fresh curated collection is spotted with an upcoming drop exclusively in Japan. Reebok’s first collaboration with Tokyo-based streetwear brand, BoTT which stands for ‘Birth Of The Teenager’, launched in 2019, is the brainchild of multidisciplinary creative, TEITO. It has grown recognition in the local and international streetwear scene since then.

At first look, the multi-colored abstract embroidered flower patterns spruce up the full-grained leather uppers of the iconic 1985 tennis sneakers. The design emphasizes the collection’s central theme, which is “the coexistence and symbiosis between people and nature”, inspired by Tokyo’s modern art and music culture.

The motifs are well spaced out, achieving visual asymmetry while the vibrant colors express somewhat euphoria in the vast negative space could potentially interpret a phase of life in the society — making the best out of being isolated during the bleak times of the COVID pandemic.

There is an over-branding of the BoTT logo in bright white on the indigo laces. The midsole has a classic Reebok color in chalk, giving the overall look of the shoe more contrasted appeal. The shoe is suited for an everyday look with a pop of color if you’re one of the minimalists.

The release of Reebok x BoTT Wave2, will be made available sequentially starting on September 16. The collection comes in apparel with similar patterns to pair with the sneaker. Talking about co-ord!
