[Update 28 Sep 2022] This Hiroshi Fujiwara-approved A-COLD-WALL* x Converse Chuck 70 has received official release details! Launching on 3 Oct on ACW*’s site and receiving a wider release via Converse US on 6 Oct, each pair will retail for US$110. Official images also reveal that reflective print is utilised for A-COLD-WALL*’s branding that lines the lateral side. The contrasting pull tab and extended tongue is another ACW* touch that further differentiates this collaborative Chuck 70 from its origins. It looks like a new A-COLD-WALL* x Converse collaboration is in the air. Recently, teasers of a sample Converse Chuck 70 Hi pair have circulated.

It was announced that there are 2 colorways, Chalk/Slate and Slate/Chalk. They feature the contrast colours between the tongue and the rest of the sneaker unit. The tongue also matches the heelstays. A grey square A-COLD-WALL* logo is placed on the side of the canvas. The text along the midsole spells “ACW–448–201 2022” though the meaning has yet to be revealed. The Chuck 70 is tied together with a translucent sole and toe cap. The eyelets are accented by one of the alternative color.

The prototype for this release was teased back in 2015, when A-COLD-WALL* founder Simon Ross wore them in the debut A-COLD-WALL* lookbook. He revealed to have worked with artist Hiroshi Fujiwara on these colorways. The teasers also suggest an accompanying apparel collection. It seems the collection will include matching two piece sets.

This will be the third release between the A-COLD-WALL* x Converse collaboration. The partnership previously released 3 silhouettes–Aeon, Aeon Onyx and Sponge Crater CX. Further details have yet to be announced.

In the meantime, check out JJJJound x BAPE Sta sequel release for more sneaker collaborations.
