Sneakersnstuff’s relationship with New Balance is not a new flame or a summer fling – they’ve had a longstanding partnership that dates back to 1999 with 17 collaborations under their belt. In fact, SNS made its headway into the global sneaker scene due in part to New Balance’s extension of a collaboration on the 577s. It also helps that co-founders Erik & Peter are also NB enthusiasts. And thus the flame burns bright between the retailer and footwear brand into 2022 with an upcoming 2002R collaboration.

Enlisting the help of Sillage’s Creative Director Yuthanan, both the creative and Sneakersnstuff teased prototype-phase moulds on their Instagrams, claiming that this collaboration will be dropping real soon in Fall 2022. Account @le.syndrome garners that this is likely a 2002R redesign, which was likely deduced from the model’s N logo and panelling.

Employing this shoe seems apt given Yuthanan’s flair for creating voguish oversized silhouettes. What complements oversized, relaxed fits more than New Balance’s newest addition to their Dad shoe repertoire? Given that this project is still likely in its infancy, no concrete details on colorway and materials have surfaced (though we have our suspicions that it’ll be a retro-themed outfit, given their previous collaborations).
