First Look: adidas YEEZY 450 “Stone Flax”
One of YEEZY brand's most divisive silhouettes reignites debate with a new colorway.
The man now known mononymously as Ye, has given us plenty of fresh apparel even while his dirty laundry gets aired out. Despite the controversies, his nick-namesake brand has managed, for the longest time, to be the face of the avant-garde.
That’s just the savant FKA Mr. West is. As one of the most polarizing living figures in the world, it seems easier for him to terraform an industry landscape to his liking than for him to accommodate to it. And as much as we ‘miss the old Kanye,’ there’s a demographic of loyalists that love him for it… most of us used to, too.
One such product of this idiosyncrasy is the divisive YEEZY 450. The brand has a simplified method to its madness: make trends and break tradition, and this odd and peculiar silhouette justifies its existence.
This iteration integrates the same design language as its monochromatic predecessors, save for the new “Stone Flax” colorway. It features a one-piece Primeknit over the PU foam midsole, instead of the signature Boost cushioning; with the tonal mix of light grey and light brown enveloping the entirety of the shoe. In addition, it comes with a hangtag indicating its construction from recycled materials, as part of the brand’s ongoing “End Plastic Waste” initiative.
There’s no official release date announced but sources point to an October date and is expected to go for US$210.
In other curios in Ye’s catalogue, the adidas YEEZY Boost 350 “Pirate Black” is expected to get a restock. Find out more!
