Sneakersnstuff Revive the Saucony Shadow 6000
Let's talk sneakers and stuff, like the Saucony Shadow 6000.
Boston-based Saucony has been the quintessence of performance-running sneakers since the 1980s. Started almost a century earlier in 1898, their accumulated mileage has seen them go from making children’s shoes, to being at the vanguard of racing footwear technology. Their hallmark Grid Technology was the first running midsole to offer stability and cushioning.
As forward-thinking as their modus operandi is, they’ve built enough in their back catalogue to find new inspiration from their past, to push the envelope even further. Once more, they approach Swedish multi-hyphenate sneakersnstuff (SNS) to bring new life into one of their history’s staple silhouettes: the Shadow 6000.
Their sophomore collaboration delivers a premium update on the heritage piece. The high-milage running shoe now has an engineered upgrade in its heel stability, flexibility, and forefoot cushioning.
The tonal earthy upper is founded on a nubuck perforated base, enriched with a hairy suede overlay that traverses the body from the forefoot to the heel. Lilac is introduced into the palette via the Saucony wave signature, before meeting the raspberry red on the topmost eyestay and the color profile of the branding tag on the nylon mesh tongue. The pair is finished off with a speckled midsole.
The SNS x Saucony Shadow 6000 will be released via raffle on the SNS App on August 26 for US$160.
Here’s another Saucony retrofitting that’s worth checking out: Saucony Shadow 6000 “Kintsugi”.
