[Update 5 Sep 2022] Marvel fans, rejoice! Just like how the universe continues to expand as each year passes, the Marvel x BAPE STA collection will be reportedly broadening to include the likes of Spider-Man, Doctor Strange and Venom. Unsurprisingly, these heroes (and anti-hero) were the latest releases from Marvel’s cinematic universe. This information was dropped by @ovrnundr, but no photos have surfaced as of yet. 

[Update 30 Aug 2022] Following an initial stateside release, the Marvel x A BATHING APE BAPE STA collection will finally drop in Japan on 4 September. As previously reported, each of the six collaborative sneakers will arrive in plastic boxes reminiscent of action figurine packaging. The Marvel x Bape BAPE STA sneakers are also accompanied with a range of t-shirts, each featuring an earth’s favourite superhero. Which Marvel Avengers are you rooting for this time?

It’s been three years since Avengers: Endgame was released — let that sink in. If you’re starting to feel some serious Marvel withdrawal and missing the OG Avengers squad, then BAPE has got you covered with an upcoming collaboration with the superhero squad.

Similar to their first partnership back in 2005, the BAPE STA is overhauled in vibrant color palettes inspired by their respective heroes. This time around, six Marvel Comics characters are engaged for this collaborative mission. Namely Iron Man, The Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Black Widow, and Rocket Racoon. Fans of the previous link up will know that Black Widow and Rocket Raccoon are the newer additions to this motley crew, but definitely a welcomed colorful addition.

For this edition, you can expect to see the BAPE STA dressed in high contrast palettes that mix red and yellow (per the comics’ painting of Iron Man), blue and black to mimic Black Widow’s shadowed costume, and in Captain America’s classic patriotic blue/red combo. As a nod to the glossy magazines that the Marvel comics were printed on, the uppers take on a glossy patent leather look. As if you might forget who the shoe is referencing, each BAPE STA sneaker is also debossed with their respective heroes. This Marvel x BAPE STA collection also follows in the footsteps of its 2005 predecessors and wraps the sneakers in a plastic box, similar to how an action figure will be packaged.

Currently, no release dates have been confirmed, but it is likely a 2022 drop. Check back to our page for more updates!
