[Update 14 Dec] Royal arrives with the Nike Dunk Low “Green Velvet” set for a Japan release on 14th December. Available for purchase via Nike SNKRS and selected retailers, the sneaker will retail at 13,200JPY (~US$100) a pair.

Nothing exudes royalty more than velvet. Worn by the wealthy in the Renaissance period, this thick material woven from silk adds a layer of luxe to any garment it graces. Even shoes, as this Nike Dunk Low “Green Velvet” proves.

The upper is covered from toe to heel in plush, green velvet. Since the material is made from silk, the shoe takes on a classy sheen when viewed from different angles and lighting. Similar to the Nike Zoom “Green Velvet”, the lining is a deeper emerald green. In this edition, though, the Dunk Low utilises creamy white laces and midsole as a contrasting color. Rounding off the look is the same emerald green on the outsole.
