Founded back in 2012 and by former Supreme brand director Angelo Baque, Awake NY is a logo-driven streetwear brand based in New York. It has delivered numerous classic and contemporary styles inspired by the spirit of NYC through their collaborations with A Ma Maniere, Reebok, Crocs, and ASICS. Following up the collaboration on the ASICS Gel-Kayano Trainer 21 last year, the streetwear label is rejoining ASICS for a trio of GEL-Lyte III colorways.

The three colorways keep the designs simple by coming in two-tone blocking, including “White/Green,” “Blue/Yellow,” and “Black/Pink.” The base layer of corduroy across all the pairs utilizes the first of the aforementioned color combos while the latter covers the suede overlays. In addition, Angelo Baque and team have played around with the shoe’s Tiger Stripe, rendering it entirely see-through with the use of translucent plastic. A dark netting has been inserted across the mid-panel as well as just under the heel tab. Gray dresses the heel tabs, heel clips, and eye stays. Awake NY and GEL-Lyte III branding hits the right and left lateral ankle respectively in metallic silver. More branding details come via co-branding between both brands logos printed atop the insole.
