When it was first unveiled in April, the Nike Pegasus Turbo Next Nature was met with great excitement from the global running community, understandably, as it marked the return of the Pegasus Turbo for the first time in three years.

The Pegasus Turbo is Nike’s top-of-the-range shoe under its famed Pegasus line of daily trainers. Combining speed, lightweight and comfort all in one, the Peg Turbo is widely regarded as one of the best running shoes around. When it was discontinued in 2019 (and with the regular Pegasus sneakers producing dismayed results), you could almost hear runners around the world let out a collective groan.

Turns out, the Swoosh had been up to something all this while. With the all new Pegasus Turbo Next Nature, the trusty runner has been given a sustainable update. According to Nike, the shoe is now “made with at least 50 percent recycled material by weight and uses 100 percent recycled Flyknit yarns in the upper”. Down below, the proprietary ZoomX foam is also “at least 55 percent recycled”. The Next Nature is the result of insights gleaned from Nike’s previous earth-conscious shoes like the Alphafly Next Nature and Nike Basketball’s Cosmic Unity.

Green innovation aside, from the offical images, it looks like the Next Nature has retained much of the qualities of its predecessors. A clean, minimal silhouette that offers the foot a snug fit and a no-frills rocker style outsole to help propel you forward smoothly with every stride.

The Pegasus Turbo Next Nature looks set to be dropping soon (an August release date was previously rumored), with Nike having just loaded up official photos to its backend. On top of the previously-unveiled Pure Platinum colorway, the Next Nature will also launch in a Black/Off-Noir colorway. Follow along as we bring you more updates!
