Bembury’s Signature Touch Found All Over the Salehe Bembury × Vans Authentic
First teased in 2021, the Salehe Bembury x Vans Authentic might be dropping soon!
[Update 1 Aug] First teased in 2021, Salehe Bembury has finally revealed that the Salehe Bembury x Vans Authentic 3 colors will be dropping on 4 August via Spunge’s webstore. He also released more on-foot photos of all 3 colors! While waiting for the drop, enjoy more detailed photos of the Salehe Bembury x Vans Authentic 3 colors on SNKRDUNK Magazine.
After Salehe Bembury revealed in late December 2020 that he was leaving Versace, he started 2021 by announcing his new brand, Spunge. Though Spunge is still relatively new, Bembury is no amateur when it comes to creative collaborations and executions. Back in 2021, he teased his first-ever collab with Vans and invited excitement for his drops.
Coming in the form of the Vans Authentic silhouette, the shoe combines signature elements from the designer and footwear giant. The first collaborative Spunge product comes in three colorways and all of them use Bembury’s signature fingerprint motif. The motif is found all over the canvas upper in a bright blue and yellow, bright yellow and white, and pink and yellow combinations. Tonal laces match the primary color of the upper which is blue, yellow and pink respectively.
Internally, the insoles for the sneakers is made of cork which is another Bembury’s signature. Salehe’s Spunge brand makes an appearance through the co-branded Vans and Spunge insole graphic. A white midsole and a traditional rubber outsole which houses the Vans’ waffle material for grip and traction add the final touch to the design. The pair will come in a customized cardboard box featuring co-branding between Vans and Spunge alongside his fingerprint design plastered throughout.
The Salehe Bembury x Vans Authentic is rumored to release in 2022 through Vans and select retailers online and in-store. As of now, sizing and pricing information is to be confirmed. To not miss anything, stay tuned to SNKRDUNK Magazine!
