adidas Yeezy 350 V2 “Reverse Oreo” Inverts a Fan Favourite
Creative genius Kanye West's Yeezy brand takes a rare look back at a classic Yeezy 350 V2 colourway... by reversing it!
With Yeezy Day 2022 at the beginning of August fast approaching, the community is looking forward to a series of restocks, such as the Yeezy Boost 350 “Turtle Dove”, as well as new drops like the Yeezy Slide “Flax”. Surprisingly, sources suggest that the new adidas Yeezy 350 V2 “Reverse Oreo” is not likely to join this stream of drops, but will release in September instead.
The “Reverse Oreo” is exactly as the name suggests – a reversed version of one of Ye’s most favourite colourways, the “Oreo”. The “Oreo” dropped in December 2016 as part of the widely-famous and coveted “Black Friday Pack”, debuting the longitudinal stripe and SPLY-350 branding we’re all familiar with today.
While the “Oreo” contains a creamy beige stripe that cuts across the black primeknit upper, the “Reverse Oreo” swaps the colours, using a black stripe on a beige upper and sole unit. Though all they’ve done is swap the colours, it takes on a much more relaxed vibe compared to its predecessor. Ye isn’t known to reuse old designs, but his brand does consistently ensure their releases are up to date with current trends – given that current fashion and street style tends towards neutral colour palettes, it’s a possibility this played a part in the decision to “Reverse” the fan-favourite “Oreo” colourway.
Not much official information is currently known about the adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2 “Reverse Oreo” besides that it is expected to release in Sep 2022 for a retail price of US$230, so stay tuned for more updates!
