Phil Leyesa — better known by his Instagram tag @philllllthy — has blown up on social media, primarily for his sneaker customization skills. The Brooklyn-based creative specializes in bespoke patchwork apparel and custom Nikes, his work speaks for itself. Back in 2020, he posted a pair of custom Air Jordan 4s that fused the “Cool Grey” and “Winterized” colorways with hand stitching on his Instagram page. He followed it up with a one-of-a-kind Nike x Stüssy hoodie, customized with hand-sewn patchwork. With his amazing work, one of the NBA’s most stylish players, PJ Tucker, even bought Phil’s custom-aged AJ1KO made specially for him. With Phil’s ever-growing influence on the sneaker and streetwear community, he will be collaborating with adidas to come up with a brand new design on the adidas NMD S1.

Partially constructed with space-dyed yarns, the Philllllthy x adidas NMD S1 uses blue, black, and cream shades across its sock-like Primeknit upper, complemented by the sky blue rope laces and the midfoot’s tilted Three Stripe graphic. A designer’s “P” logo is affixed to the Boost midsole. Down below, thick midsole is dressed in frosty blue that is accented by white midsole bricks and stuffed full of BOOST cushioning. adidas Originals trefoil logos appear on the outsole for a finishing dash of branded flair.

This Philllllthy x adidas NMD S1 will be made available on 15 November. It will retail for US$220.
