These closer looks showcase the leather details on the Swoosh with greater clarity, and the contrast between the nubuck and pristine white leather is accentuated. Tinker Hatfield’s “Safari” design is undeniably an iconic one, with it making its rounds on several Nike models, including the Air Maxes, LeBron 19 and Dunks. Its recognizable look is tied to an interesting backstory, whereby the Safari look is meant to imitate rare and luxurious ostrich skin (of course, it’s not actually made of real ostrich leather but a buffed and embossed leather). What Hatfield envisioned with the Safari was to incorporate a high-end look into every day activities, such as running.

This distinctive pattern is coming back onto another Nike, this time in the form of a Safari Swoosh on the Nike Dunk Low. Complementing this design is a classic white leather base with bright orange nubuck overlays. A similar orange shade is found on the outsole. The employment of this orange is a direct reference to Tinker Hatfield’s OG Air Safari from 1987.

Though no official release date has been set for this Nike Dunk Low Safari Swoosh, we expect more news to drop soon. In the meantime, keep scrolling to see more pictures of this eye-catching sneaker!
