Martine Rose is perhaps best known in the fashion scene for her unconventional runways, which has been hosted at rock climbing centres and even markets. Her designs are just as disruptive, as evidenced from her collections and her previous collaboration with Nike on the Monarch IV. On that shoe, she distorted the upper such that the upper looked more than two times the size of the sole.

Now, the menswear designer is back with another Nike collaboration, this time on the Nike Shox MR4. Debuted during her London Fashion week Spring 2023 show, she gives the already-unique model a high fashion makeover.

The toe box is molded into a square toe, similar to what you’ll see on a formal loafer. This, combined with the already-elevated pillar on the sole, gives the shoe a high heel look from the side. The Swoosh has an embroidered trimming and made more plush, giving the Shox MR4 more visual interest.

The Martine Rose x Nike Shox MR4 will be available in two classic colorways — black and white. Though the white takes on a tonal look, with only the Swoosh trim taking on a black color, the Black Shox MR4 employs hits of bright red on the piston. Rounding off the collaboration is Martine Rose’s branding on the tongue.

Given that the Martine Rose x Nike Shox MR4 was debuted on the Spring 23 runway, we expect it to roll out in 2023.
