After coming off an apparel and sneaker collaboration with Vans, popular Japanese streetwear label WIND AND SEA is releasing another skatewear capsule, but this time with iconic American magazine Thrasher.

This collaboration sees a fusion of both brands’ quintessential elements, providing a series of apparel that embodies a mix of western and eastern street style. Among a line of tees, caps, shorts and sweatshirts, the standout has to be t-shirts which features the WIND AND SEA logo with Thrasher’s Mag Logo flames. The back of the shirt also includes Thrasher’s motto “Skate and Destroy”, which embodies the magazine’s raw representation of the sneaker scene. Not to mention, Thrasher even had a recurring column that encouraged readers to send in pictures of their skateboarding wounds.

However, keen eyes will notice that the “AND” in “Skate and Destroy” utilises WIND AND SEA’s outlined font rather than Thrasher’s usual solid look, lending this t-shirt further co-branding elements that tie back to the collaboration.

Those in cooler climates can also enjoy similar design elements on the sweatshirts, which has the flame-engulfed WIND AND SEA logo displayed blatantly on the back and “Skate and Destroy” written along the length of the sleeves. The front of the sweatshirt keeps things simple by including both brands’ logos.

Older Thrasher readers will also be delighted to notice that Thrasher’s retro diamond logo makes a comeback on tees in this collaboration. Though a vintage look, the logo comes in a vibrant yellow-pink-green color palette, giving the design a fresher feel.

This Thrasher x WIND AND SEA apparel collection is a Japan exclusive but will be made available on WIND AND SEA’s website on 2 July at 12 p.m JST (11 a.m. SGT). Items range from around US$57 to US$102. Keep scrolling for more campaign and official images!
