[Release 22 Jun] Nike Air Huarache Returns in Nostalgic “Michigan” Colours
The Nike Air Huarache, popularised in part by NBA All-Star Juwan Howard, is coming back this Summer season! Just in time for Howard’s return as Head Coach of the Michigan Wolverines, the Air Huarache is set to release in a “Michigan”-like colourway that hasn’t been seen since the 2000s.
The familiar Varsity Maize and Navy colours coat the silhouette’s inner lining, tongue, heel and mid-section in alternating blocks, while a clean White is present across the shoe’s rubber midsole, leather upper and mesh toe-box. Meanwhile, Air Huarache’s signature stiff back-panel protrudes slightly from the rear of the shoe, adding depth and dimension. Overall, the Air Huarache “White Varsity Maize” makes good use of Michigan’s iconic colours to create a design that is nostalgic, yet refreshing to see.
The Nike Air Huarache “White Varsity Maize” will be dropping via Nike SNKRS and select retailers on 22 June, 10:00AM EST for a retail price of US$120. Though Nike has not officially named these shoes after the original “Michigan” colourway, everybody sees the reference. More details below.
