As we progress into the later half of 2022, it is becoming increasingly clear that Nike’s plan for the Air Force 1’s 40th Anniversary does not involve any grand announcement. Rather, it will be celebrated with a large volume of Air Force 1 launches in a vast range of designs. The recently circulating Nike Air Force 1 Low “Los Angeles” is one such iteration in the line up for the model’s 40th birthday, and we are certain that those who have an attachment to the City of Angels will fall head over heels for this pair of kicks.
The bold blue canvas that dresses the upper is eye-catching in itself. But as per the glamor of LA, just cobalt blue is not enough. On it are embroidered patches that tie back to the city. This assortment of patches include iterations of the Nike branding, a spray can, skull peace signs and “Los Angeles” in various fonts. The seemingly random placements of the patches is reminiscent of Y2K-esque denim and jeans that were peppered with sewn-on patches.
The larger Nike Swoosh comes in a lighter, pale blue that is similar to washed out denim. Rounding off the look are white laces, lining and sole so as to keep the focus on the patchwork.
No release dates have been announced so far, but we expect it to be within the year given the anniversary celebrations. In the meantime, keep scrolling onwards for more pictures of this Y2K aesthetic Nike Air Force 1 Los Angeles.
