[Update 13 Jun 2023] Following a release on NEIGHBORHOOD’s official website, the NEIGHBORHOOD x adidas NMD S1 Collection is now set to arrive via the adidas CONFIRMED App. Officially dropping on 16 June, take part in the raffle draw now for a chance to cop the pairs.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

[Update 25 May 2023] A release date of 27 May has now been confirmed for the NEIGHBORHOOD x adidas Originals NMD S1 Collection. Expect the pairs to arrive via NEIGHBORHOOD at 12pm JST. In the meantime, take a look at the latest campaign imagery shared by the Japanese label.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The partnership between legacy streetwear label NEIGHBORHOOD and adidas have been going on for two decades now, and they’re set to continue orbiting each other in the foreseeable future with the upcoming NMD S1 Collection in their trajectory. Successor to last year’s \u201cPaisley Pack\u201d<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The two-pack subsumes the NMD S1, in addition to its retrofitting into the NMD S1 Boot. If the aesthetic looks all-too-familiar, it’s intended to be an homage to their 2018 effort at the NMD’s zenith. Consistent with their shared design language, these arrive in their hallmark monochrome palette. Black at the base, shining light to the white detailing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The NMD S1 bears a strong resemblance to its predecessor with the serrated outline traversing from profile to profile past the toecap. White speckles embellish the shoes at the heel counter while presided by a conodont-esque monogram above. Below sees midsole plugs imprinted with the parties’ names and at the back is NEIGHBORHOOD’s signature “TOKYO EST. 1994” imprint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both the NMD S1 and the Boot share the same sole unit but they deviate above. The latter features a suede moccasin-derivative upper, with its most notable component being the Fidlock V-Buckle on the midfoot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A release date hasn’t been announced by any of the collaborators but the rumor mill has them dropping sometime in 2023, possibly in the late summer. When D-Day comes, find the collection in the duo’s own brick-and-click with a price tag of US$250.
