Calling Vibram and Vans heads, the Vibram x Vault by Vans collab is making an official comeback. The two brands first joined hands on a line of white and black leather sneakers back in 2021. At the time, the coming together of the Vans skateboarding classics, the Authentic and Sk8-Hi, and Vibram’s rugged sole unit made the shoes in this collab instant IYKYK favorites.<\/p>\n
A few days ago, seemingly out of nowhere, a new Vibram x Vault by Vans Authentic was spotted in the wild. This time, the Vans silhouette is seen in its OG canvas makeup, retaining the classic white stitching on black canvas design.<\/p>\n
Down below, the Vibram studded sole unit returns but with the midsole now in an off-white shade and the outsole in gum brown. Meanwhile, the Vibram logo around the heel has ditched its usual yellow for a dark metallic grey.<\/p>\n
The original Vibram x Vault by Vans collab was inspired by 90s high fashion and the urban subculture of that time and featured two pairs of Vans Authentic and two pairs of Vans Sk8-Hi made from supple leather.<\/p>\n
The Vibram soles elevated (literally) the Vans models and gave them a DIY grungy vibe reminiscent of that time period. Now, with Y2K fashion blowing up, the 2023 version of the platform sneaker has arrived just in time, and TikTok seems to agree<\/a>.<\/p>\n While release details of this 2023 Vibram x Vans collab are scarce, we’ve spotted a few pairs currently going for EUR115 (~US$122) at Afew Store<\/a>.
