Every year, the footwear industry contributes to 1.4% of global greenhouse emissions, stemming from the production chain and materials used. This has prompted some of the biggest companies in the space to proactively and progressively move towards sustainability. Thus the adidas Supernova 2.0 Parley.<\/p>\n
For adidas, a key part of this commitment is their partnership with Parley for the Oceans\u2014a nonprofit that specializes in protecting the marine. Started in 2015, the two parties have introduced the Parley Ocean Plastic into several in their BOOST line. The material is a catalyst innovation that upcycles plastic waste intercepted from beaches and coastal towns before they reach the ocean.<\/p>\n
Next it’s to be integrated with is adidas Running’s Supernova series. Four uniform colorways will be produced: “Carbon”, “Chalk White”, “Silver Violet”, and “Coral Fusion”. The Supernova 2.0 will feature an amalgam of their BOOST technology and Bounce on the midsoles, along with the lightweight upper.<\/p>\n
The design adopts a minimalistic approach with dual-branded tongue patches and a Parley tag on the lateral heel. Adjacent to it on the quarter will be a serrated decorative stitching partnered with the wavy lines that presiding over it.<\/p>\n
All four colorways will be released on 15 February on adidas’ brick-and-click for US$120.<\/p>\n
